Communities Within Communities

Last night was equinox and we held a community sweat. It was an all day ritual. 3Raven, Kami, Maqui, Mika and I gathered wood from around the land. Will was cleaning the shed and also made a good pile of wood for us to take down to the sweat. Joel clarified his intentions, cleaned his ass, and went for a walk gathering special things from the land. To burn in the sweat fire. He also made tobacco ties, for prayers to hang inside the sweat, gathered flowers and herbs from the garden, tied into a fabulous bow, along with a piece of Indian corn from the west side of the garden. Maqui and I said prayers into the sweat rocks, while ThreeRaven blessed them and put them into the center of the fire pit. Then we built the fire, and made friends with a baby rattlesnake that had just eaten and who was digesting in the woodpile. Three Raven and Mika make fire, while Kami, Joel, Maqui and I placed the blankets and tarps on the lodge. We had a circle of 13, with 8 folks from around the area, and we did a 5 round sweat, while the fire tender placed his intentions into the fire.

Afterwards we had a feast facilitated by Mikee and Willy (with some fabulous pies) and drank wondrous homemade rice beer under a full moon. A community happened this night within community.

As I am leaving here in a few days I have been reflecting on all the different communities that I am a part of. Within the Radical faerie community there are so many different communities that are a part of and connected to this larger community. Wheels within wheels.

The core community of stewards here at ZMS have been delightfully, lovingly accessible and full of many learnings. Work being play - ritual, contained in as heart space, Oh . . . the joys of living. I wish my dear friends and family here, Dear Maqui, Joel, Mika, and Shawnee to have a warm and wondrous winter!

The Shamans Gathering here was an amazing experience for me. Faeries gathered together with much intention. Having different focus each day brought the gathering to new levels for me and I am excited to explore, and shave this power that was shared in this experience. Beauty, Balance and Delight.

Three Raven and I are off to Short Mountain’s Fall Gathering in a few days, and then to Wolf Creeks Samhain Gathering. We are honored to a part of so many communities or webbing between each community forms larger community and so on and so on . . . World Wide Community.

As I leave here I would like to leave it a little more fabulous than when I arrived. Also I would like to put out a call to all of you to come spend time, energy, love and intention here on this Faerie Land. Be well ZMS. Live Long and Prosper
