Will the real Queen please stand up?

Zuni Mtn. Sanctuary has a number of Queens. (Really?) The queen of a she praveys, the kitchen queen(s), the tidy queen, the pet queen, the shitter queen, the construction queen(s), queen for a day - queen and the many other crowns that are worn in the course of the day. The Question comes to mind "who is the real Queen and after much thought the answer becomes obvious. You are, dear--You are the True Queen.

Over the last ten years ZMS has become a jewel in the crown of Radical Fairy Sanctuaries. If you've been here, (and I hope your Majesty has been able to purvey all her lands)d you have seen first hand what dedicated servants can do. The Main house, and kitchen, the Tea Rooms, a residential center, The studio, where all are invited to create, Juniper House a gardening residential building, The chicken house, providing eggs and manure for the gardens, solar showers, riperian work around the land, solar and wind power, water cisterns to catch the precious rainwater, pathways to alters, and deep woods, swim able pond and good neighbor status in the greater community. All this work was done by the stewards, visitors, and members of the greater community through vision, hands on, spiritual and financial help.

There are now three general meetings a year, and all are encouraged to attend and share their visions. At the last meeting held during Samhain, lists began of the work that must go forward to offer the stewards and visitors a healthy, productive environment. Some of the things discussed where:

Solar power remains inadequate for the needs of the sanctuary. The studio supplies solar power to the Tea house and Juniper, the Common House has solar and wind, but is inadequate during the short days of winter, so power use must be carefully watched to just barely make it through the night. More batteries and larger systems are necessary to run the daily activities of the sanctuary. A generator or backup system is needed for times of adverse conditions which can be considerable during the long winter months.

Though structures are built, they are not finished or need repair, thus exposing all of your subjects to extreme dust, and fiberglass from uncovered insulation. The rooms and buildings have not been finished, this lends to a cold enviroment, that when finished will provide warmth and comfort for all. Walls need to be remudded inside and out. Recently, a new mud floor has been added to Juniper. It is the subfloor and needs tiles or wood and it has given a glimpse of how nice it would be to have even clean able floors in all the structures. Good floors mean less broken heels when your Majesty visits.

Your majesties help is implored. Please take note that in order to ensure a safe and healthy stay for all who come to ZMS the projects that were started need to be finished. A more adequate water supply is essential to foster not only larger gatherings, but bring a higher quality to the existing ones. Upgraded Solar Showers, would be the upswing, proving a healthier climate for all. Bigger, productive gardens would offer lower food costs during the whole year. New Mexico is not known for its abundant rain fall, using permaculture techniques such as a much bigger cistern made from Ferrocrete for our drinking water and a large pond by the gardens and that much awaited bathhouse, would provide enough water. Improving the roads filling them with gravel and grading would take most of the risk away when Mother pelts us with her precious rain. Less mud, means easier access and lest we not forget, the ability to exit in a timely fashion.

The future could look like this, A Bathhouse surrounded by beautiful gardens and pond filled with water lilies and fowl. The dinner bell rings as we step in to a completed community kitchen and dinning area with mudded walls. The conch blows and we assemble in a sacred meeting space. Out in the woods a hermitage with alter, and offering everyone an opportunity to be with themselves for a while. The studio is in full production with dust free environment available for anyone to explore their creative sides.

Looking at ZMS's finances over the years, it becomes apparent that any number of stewards (5-8) hundreds of visitors, the maintenance of the structures, using permaculture methods to tend and repair the land, operating several vehicles, maintain and upgrading solar systems, producing gatherings and working towards dream goals, has only cost what one low income family makes a year, around $30,000.

I hope that the queen will applaud the effort and success. Now I hope that your Majesty will see that to continue to prosper and make minimal standards safe, healthy and vibrant, you must go to your treasury.

There is a shared vision of residential housing, indoor ,around the year visitor space, so your majesty may visit during any time of the year and be comfortable. This dream takes energy from the whole kingdom, in ways of physical labor, love, suggestions and of course money.

ZMS needs your help and love. ZMS moves forward as your energy allows. The magic of this land is enhanced by your generosity. There are many ways to help.

Donors- donating material, time physical labor, prayers or rituals, and money.

Endowments, Restricted Funds, One Time gift with life long gratitude from all.

Pledging: Offering monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or annual gifts

ZMS is asking everyone to search their abilities and pledge dollars.

Below are some estimated costs that might be spent over the next three years to continue the dream.

Here are some estimated costs:

To finish existing structures, $25,000

To build new structures, $50,000
